The Bright Side: Deb Norville pimps her book

Cloying blonde Deborah Norville, who we think is still host of that tabloid television show nobody watches, has a new book coming out. And she's letting everyone on her mass email list know how to buy it. Deb, who for decades has mined misery and exploited tragedy, from school shootings to prison stays, while ducking under the cover of a "syndicated newsmagazine," is now revealing her her "secret" for success: Always looking on the bright side of life.

Blechhhhh!

But as in the case of Katie Couric, whose career rose after she replaced Deborah on the Today show, there's a question of whether Deb really wrote this personal note to her fans-- or if she had a ghostwriter do the whoring for her. Do people really say that they're JAZZED about things?

And do her employees have to buy the book-- or else?

Anyway, we like how she puts quote marks around "blog."

HI !!

I wanted to let you know that Thank You Power is coming. My new book hits stores in one month, October 2nd, and I couldn't be more excited! The upcoming weeks will be pretty busy as we get set for the book tour and publicity events, starting with Good Morning America and Inside Edition on TV and Newsweek, USA Today, & Reader's Digest on the print side.

I hope you'll get a chance to check it out. It's the proof from academics that focusing on the bright side, counting your blessings really DOES make a quantifiable difference in one's life. I've worked on many interesting projects over the years, but none has gotten me more jazzed than what I've learned researching this over the last two years. I think YOU'LL be amazed too. Resilience during tough times, better problem solving and strategic thinking, resistance to stress - even exercising more each week - all of these have been linked to the positive mindset that begins with counting your blessings.

I have a website up about the book www.thankyoupower.net and the 'blog' is: http://thankyoupower.blogspotcom/

I hope you get a chance to check it out!

Best,

Deborah

THANK YOU -- It's the real secret to having the life you want

I'd rather read about Debby's sex addiction or drinking problem. Kidding! She's too together for that.

Actually, the message of her book isn't original, but it's a nice idea. Wayne Dyer has been writing that stuff since the 70s. In my opinion, it's Dennis Prager who really hits it on the head: we owe it to the people around us to be happy. Friends and family put up with so much when our demons hang around.

That said, Norville is an okay anchor... always felt bad the way 'Today' turned out. Greta V.S. really needs to back off the garden-variety tragedy stories, she's the worst.

Greta: "So how did it feel when you heard your child was found in a pedophile's backyard freezer?"
